RBR Mk2 Cabinet

I appreciate your offering of the RBR Mk2 and I am interested. As there is no cabinet info yet listed, am I to assume that the kit is a direct replacement for the prior one, and there is no change in cabinet design from the RBR?

Hi there,

Thank you for your interest in the new C5 speakers (aka RBR mk2). I consider it a step up from the original RBR in several ways. First, the HDS tweeter has really amazing top end dispersion, so if you like detail, this is your speaker. Second, the phase alignment is better through the crossover region for a more extended range, do to the use of the tweeter impedance equalization (zobel) and woofer contour shaping network. Third, the woofer has an incredibility extended bottom and top end. The sound is very smooth, yet detailed so male/female vocals just sound right. This is what I've come to know from Scan Speak.

To answer your question, it indeed uses the same boxes as the original RBR. So you can go either ported or sealed. I recommend sealed if you use a subwoofer for the best transient response and smooth integration with the sub. If I can be of further service, feel free to send me an email.

Regards,

Jed
